  • 1922 में आज ही के दिन लिबिया के एल अज़िज़िया में धरती पर उच्चतम तापमान दर्ज किया गया। छाया में मापा गया यह तापमान 136.4 डिग्री एफ (58 डिग्री सी) था।
  • 1947 में आज ही के दिन भारतीय प्रधानमंत्री जवाहरलाल नेहरु ने 40 लाख हिंदूओं और मुसलमानों के पारस्परिक स्थानांतरण का सुझाव दिया।
  • 2002 में आज ही के दिन इस्रायल ने फिलिस्तीन अधिकृत गाजा पट्टी पर हमला किया।
