  • सन 1388 में आज ही के दिन दिल्ली के सुल्तान फिरोज तुगलक शाह तृतीय का निधन।
  • सन 1810 में आज ही के दिन उर्दू भाषा के प्रख्यात कवि मीर तक़ी मीर का निधन हुआ।
  • सन 1831 में आज ही के दिन भाप से चलने वाली पहली बस बनाई गयी।  
  • सन 1867 में आज ही के दिन ऑस्ट्रिया में हंग्री के विलय के पश्चात फ्रांसवा जोज़फ औपचारिक रुप से ऑस्ट्रिया हंग्री के सम्राट बने। 
  • सन 1933 में आज ही के दिन अग्रणी थियोसोफिस्ट, महिला अधिकारों की समर्थक, लेखक, वक्ता एवं भारत-प्रेमी महिला डाक्टर एनी बेसेन्ट का निधन हुआ। 
  • सन 1948 में आज ही के दिन भारतीय फिल्म डायरेक्टर, प्रोड्यूसर और स्क्रिप्ट लेखक महेश भट्ट का जन्म हुआ।
  • सन 1970 में आज ही के दिन रूसी प्रोब ने चांद के सतह से कुछ चट्टानें इकट्ठा की।
  • सन 1973 में आज ही के दिन दुनिया के मशहूर 'बैटल ऑफ सक्सेज' में बिली जीन किंग ने जीत दर्ज की।
  • सन 1979 ईसवी में आज ही के दिन  केंद्रीय अफ़्रीक़ा के अत्याचारी शासक जॉन बदल बोकासा का निधन हुआ। 
  • सन 1984 में आज ही के दिन लेबनान की राजधानी बेरूत में स्थित अमेरिकी दूतावास पर आत्मघाती हमला किया था।
  • सन 1995 में आज ही के दिन संयुक्त राज्य महासभा का 50वां अधिवेशन हुआ।
  • सन 2011 में आज ही के दिन भारतीय ज्ञानपीठ ने वर्ष 2009 के लिए 45वां ज्ञानपीठ पुरस्कार हिंदी के लेखक अमरकांत और श्रीलाल शुक्ल को संयुक्त रूप से प्रदान करने की घोषणा की। 
  • सन 2011 में आज ही के दिन अफ़ग़ानिस्तान के पूर्व राष्ट्रपति और तालिबान से वार्ता के लिए गठित सरकारी शांति परिषद के शीर्ष वार्ताकार बुरहानुद्दीन रब्बानी, काबुल में अमेरिकी दूतावास के समीप स्थित अपने निवास पर एक आत्माघाती आक्रमण में मारे गये।
