  • 1880 में आज ही के दिन प्रसिद्ध हिन्दी कहानीकार और उपन्यासकार प्रेमचंद का जन्म हुआ था। 
  • 1947 में प्रसिद्ध बॉलीवुड अभिनेत्री मुमताज़ का जन्म हुआ। 
  • 1940 में स्वतंत्रता सेनानी अमर शहीद ऊधम सिंह का निधन भी आज ही के दिन हुआ था। 
  • 1971 में अपोलो-15 अंतरिक्ष यात्रियों ने इलेक्ट्रिक का साढ़े 6 घंटे की यात्रा की थी। 
  • 2006 में फिदेल कास्त्रो ने अपने भाई को सत्ता सौंपी थी।  
  • 2010 में बाढ़ से पाकिस्तान में 900 लोगों की मौत हो गई थी।
